My name is Fabrizio Tivano,I am an experienced and well qualified Senior Systems Engineer, ICT Security
and audit specialist with twenty years’ experience working on enterprise IT projects in the public, banking,
industrial and Telco environments.
During these years I’ve gained extensive experience administering and maintaining large scale and mission
critical distributed ICT infrastructures, delivering confidentiality, integrity and availability with a strong
understanding of complex corporate computing environments, legislative and regulatory requirements and
I'm also specialized in cyber security, threat management and incident handling, HA and fault tolerant
systems, virtualization technology, as well as ICT related physical access security; supporting day by day
operations following the CISSP domains, ISO 2700x, OSSTMM and PCI standards and best practices.
Very involved in my job with a high degree of autonomy I’m able to manage myself and also comfortable
working, with proactive approach, in multinational/multicultural teams. Rapid to adapt and obtain a system
overview in fast changing environments I own analytical, debug, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
My expertise, under the motto “share your knowledge”, is complemented by attention to details preparing
technical documentation, best practices and Standard Operating Procedures for daily operational tasks like
troubleshooting, updates and in particular disaster recovery, contingency planning, incident and security
Many years have passed since I began my IT career “exploring” X.25 networks with just a 1200 baud
modem; now I always try to be up to date as much as possible. I’ve attended several times at International
events like Chaos Communication Congress in Germany, DefCON and BlackHat conferences in Vegas.
From 2013 I’m member of OWASP WASC Distributed Web Honeypots Project where the goal is to identify
emerging attacks against web applications and report them to the community including automated scanning
activity, probes, as well as, targeted attacks against specific web apps.
When in Fuerteventura, from 2008 to early 2014 I was pro-bono forensic advisor at the local law court.
In 2002/2003 I developed one of the first SNORT based IDS whit automated remote IP blocking capabilities.
Very comfortable in dealing with external suppliers, top management, key persons and travel internationally.
